Warp faced bands are one of our most ancient forms of weaving, inkle weaving has its roots in other warp faced weave structures such as backstrap weaving. Done for thousands of years these narrow, often ranging from 1-4 inch wide bands were commonly used for straps, belts, trims, handles and much more.

Julie will guide you through the process of planning a simple band, choosing appropriate materials, winding the warp and then weaving and finishing your final product! Looms will be provide for classroom instruction and are then available for purchase.

All materials included with tuition.

If you want to bring your own loom in working order, please have at least 20 heddles installed.
