If you have never tried to dye your own yarn, but are intrigued by the idea of creating your own unique color ways, here is the workshop for you. In this workshop we will start with a bundle of small pre-wound skeins in a wide range of fiber content. We will learn about the washing and mordanting process before moving into several dye techniques including submersion dyeing, creating space dyed yarn, over dyeing and more!

As a new dyer, getting started you will only need a few items, however there are some things to know first. Sara will introduce students to a wide range of tools, setup suggestions for at home dyeing and where to source supplies. Students will have an opportunity to use both Cushing and Procion MX dyes for their respective fibers and dye applications. 

All materials included with tuition. Students are asked to dress accordingly in clothing they do not mind getting a bit colorful.
