Learn with Sara the art of weaving bands in the Sami tradition with the help of supplemental threads in a sunna heddle. We will discuss these fascinating nomadic people of the Samiland region of Norway, Sweden and Denmark and their textile traditions. Students will be give several options to choose from with varying degrees of difficulty and color usage to weave a simple supplemental warp-faced band in a backstrap fashion. Little to no weave experience is needed for this fun one-day class.
