About Class
Date: June 9-11, 2026
Time: 9am- 4pm
How do you take a simple one-color scarf, table runner, or curtain and make it something special and unique? This class helps to answer that question. Students will weave a sampler on a pre-warped loom, experimenting with Danish medallions, pile weaves, brooks bouquet, adding beads to your woven fabric, hem stitching variations and many more techniques.
Looms will be pre-warped with perle cotton, and a variety of weft threads will be provided. Students are encouraged to bring along any novelty threads, but this is not required.
The workshop will highlight uses of tools such as
- pick-up sticks
- netting shuttles
- crochet hooks
- beading tools
- use of multiple shuttles weaving at the same time
Students should be familiar with the basic operation of a loom and have basic experience in weaving plain weave fabrics. This workshop is a great way to add some astonishing new techniques to your weaving repertoire.
Please let the office know if you want to use a Rigid Heddle Loom or a Floor Loom.
