If you have enjoyed making plain weave double width blankets, this class is a logical next step. With an eight-shaft loom, students can weave a number of different twill patterns in double weave, including straight twill, point twill, rosepath, and diamond twills. Students will learn the theory behind the techniques, and will be guided through development of a threading draft for their project.

Materials are not included, but will be available for purchase or students may also choose to bring their own materials. The first morning you will design and plan your blanket so you'll know how much yarn you'll need!

If bringing your own materials, Sara suggests any yarn that isn't too stretchy and would sett at 8-10 EPI.

If you're using a yarn that's 10 EPI, you'd need approximately 1200-1300yds for warp and 500yds for weft. If your yarn is 8 EPI, you can use approximately 1000yds for the warp and 400yds for the weft.

These are suggestions and we would recommend over compensating the yardage depending on how you want to arrange them, or what type of stripe pattern that you choose.
