The Fall Weaving Residency: 12 Days of Time, Space & Mentorship

We all dream of stepping away from daily responsibilities to gift ourselves uninterrupted creative time—space to finally tackle the ambitious projects we have been dreaming up.

Evolving from our popular Warp and Weave course, this immersive 12-day open-format workshop gives you dedicated studio space, flexible making time, and direct one-on-one mentorship from Sara.

  • Complete Creative Autonomy: Design your own path. Tackle an ambitious 60" wide project, sample quick warps across diverse weave structures, or finally work through that treasured yarn stash from home.
  • Tailored Technical Guidance: Sara is by your side to help plan warps, calculate setts, fine-tune treadling, navigate complex structures, and master finishing techniques.
  • Work at Your Own Rhythm: There is no rigid syllabus. Spend full days immersed at the loom, take an afternoon hike through the fall foliage, or step away to explore the area whenever inspiration calls.
  • Materials & Tools: Bring your favorite yarns from home or explore the curated materials available in our shop.

Immerse Yourself: On-Campus Ridge Housing

Make the experience completely seamless by staying right on campus in our Ridge Housing.

  • The Ultimate Convenience: Skip the commute and fully sink into the retreat mindset—wake up steps from the studio, slip back to your room for an afternoon nap, or head out for an evening walk at your own pace.
  • Make Yourself at Home: Fully equipped kitchens give you the freedom to prepare your own meals on your own schedule.

Format & Schedule

  • Week 1 (Monday – Saturday): Daily studio hours with full instructor guidance and technical support.
  • Sunday: Independent open studio day to weave, rest, or explore the local trails.
  • Week 2 (Monday – Friday): Dedicated instruction, project completion, and finishing techniques.
