About class
Date: June 14-18, 2027
Time: 10am- 4pm
Lace structures have a reputation for looking incredibly complex, but once you unlock the logic behind them, they are a joy to create. At-Bronson (or block Bronson) lace is a wonderfully versatile structure that allows you to contrast airy, open lace blocks with dense fields of plain weave. It is perfect for creating elegant table linens, breathable scarves, and delicate curtains.
This workshop is designed to demystify the threading and treadling blocks that make up this beautiful structure. We will focus on how to read a Bronson draft, how the "tie" threads create the characteristic lace windows, and how to troubleshoot tension to ensure your lace pops beautifully after wet finishing. Each student will be provided an 8-shaft loom, pre-warped to weave 10 dish towels showcasing the sheer elegance of this technique & variations in patterning giving you the confidence to bring airy, textured lace into your future weaving repertoire.
All materials are included with your tuition.
