About class
Date: April 26-30, 2027
Time: 10am- 4pm
If you love the structured nature of weaving but long for the freedom of spontaneous, painterly design, this is the workshop for you. Clasped weft is a brilliantly simple technique where two different weft yarns meet and lock together within the shed, allowing you to change colors mid-pick and create completely organic, asymmetrical shapes.
Led by Tom, this hands-on workshop walks you through the entire process from start to finish—from winding a crisp warp to weaving your final piece. You will learn how to efficiently manage two active shuttles, control the placement of your color joins, and play with negative space directly on the loom. It is a wonderfully meditative and creative process where no two pieces are ever the same. Come prepared to experiment, play with color, and weave outside the box!
